More than crochet…

Well, the long service leave is well and truly underway and the creative juices are flowing. I have been neglecting the crochet for other pursuits…namely sewing. I still have crochet projects in sight and planned, but got excited about an idea for making a handbag from old wool blankets.

I have been collecting the fabulous ‘Onkaparinga’ blankets from Op Shops and was going to create cushion covers and doggie beds…but then the bag idea came to mind.

I have upcycled my dad’s old belts as the straps and added covered buttons to keep the strap in place. It’s soft and unique. Love it!

Madly making for the big opening

I’ve signed up for a ‘madeit.com.au’ shop front online. Madly producing stuff to get started. Thank goodness for sisters. Mine happily made a purchase to make sure it was all in working order.

The shop name is ‘Keepsakes’ and will be filled with treasures worth keeping.

When is too much, too much?

My daughter looked in my crocheted handbag yesterday and found my crocheted glasses case and crocheted makeup purse. I was wearing a crocheted cuff and necklace.

  

“Too much?” I asked.
“Nah!” She replied!

Beach bag to go…

The beach bag is done. It’s crazy, soft, fun … I don’t think I will ever lose sight of it when I’m in the water. I think it’s a security bag too.. After all, what young teen or bag snatcher would be seen carrying this away from the beach? So, check the pattern on the pattern page.
